The trip was a delivery for Rescue Animals of North Africa (RANA), a charity that rehomes stray cats from North Africa to adopters in the UK and France. They drove from London through the Channel Tunnel to Calais, then to central Paris, with seven cats in the back.
The cats were quiet the whole journey.
With hours on the road and no escape, the conversation was looser and more personal than a studio recording. They discussed basketball, sneaker obsession, veganism, personal training, and — in a brief, quiet moment — Manni's late father and what he inherited from him.
